THE JOURNEY OF A HERO
This Spring, our Youth Ministry is using different curriculums for all 5 classrooms; however in all the curriculums, there is a common theme; that of the Hero's Journey.
Our Unitikes (age 3 thru Kindergarten) will be exploring the topics of how to be heroic; experiencing the themes of Compassion, Creating in Mind, Creating in Action, and of course hearing the stories of Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday in a way befitting this age group.
Our Unikids (1st thru 3rd grade) will finish their "Be A Dreamer" series, and will then start their "Alice and Joseph" curriculum. In case you are wondering it is the Joseph of the famous coat and the Alice of Wonderland fame. This curriculum is a fun review of the journey of their two lives.
Our Unitees (4th and 5th grade) will finish their 4 Agreements curriculum and then will venture to Oz (as in Wizard of Oz); exploring how each Oz character becomes a hero in their own life.
Our Uniteens (6th thru 8th grade) will be exploring "The Life and Teachings of Jesus"; exploring the Parables, and then all the events around Easter Sunday; truly a Hero's Journey.
And our YOU (9th thru 12th grade) will also be exploring the teachings of Jesus, with an in-depth look at The Sermon on the Mount and The Beatitudes.
All children age 3 to 18 are invited to join us as an opportunity for them to be part of a community, which will support them in their exploration of how to be a hero in their own life.
We are walking in the Light,
Marie Wendt
Youth Ministry Director
