Beth Allen

Beth began singing and playing piano at an early age. She received training in school and church choirs where she frequently sang solos As a young adult, she studied voice and sang professionally with the Handel and Haydn Society in Boston, Mass., the oldest musical organization in the country. There, she also sang with the Wintersauce Chorale, a 16-voice ensemble which gave a concert series and produced an album. The Chorale also performed radio spots for WNYC, New York Public Radio. She was a guest soloist for Christian Science churches in the greater Boston area. In Chicago Beth performed with a variety of choruses, including Cantate, Fleur de Lys, and the Chicago Symphony Chorus. She also appeared in productions of Light Opera Works in Evanston. She was soloist for First Church of Religious Science in Chicago.

For three years Beth served as artist-in-residence at the Duke Ellington School, a public grade school in Chicago. There, she worked with first grade students in a program linking music with literacy skills. She directed the culminating project, a staged production of a Chinese fairy tale involving 150 students playing percussion instruments, chanting and singing. Beth received her pedagogy training at Augustana College in River Forest. She has taught piano to children and adults for 10 years. She served Music Director for the Oak Park Church of Religious Science from 1997-2007 where she played piano, sang and directed a seasonal choir.

John Hegner

John Hegner is an accomplished musician, composer, songwriter, producer, and recording engineer. He owns and operates Starbell Hatchery Recording Studio in Harvard, IL. Hegner began his journey in music with piano lessons at age 6 and composed his first song at age 12. He attended High School at the renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan. John continued his musical training at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and Berklee College of Music in Boston.

After college he was hired as staff composer at Editel Teleproductions in Boston, Massachussetts and later freelanced under the name Monster Music for three years. Moving to New York City, he operated John Hegner Music for the next ten years. He recently returned to McHenry County to make his home and studio in rural Woodstock. John’s extensive background in music has given him the chance to work with a numerous commercial clients including: Reebok, John Hancock Insurance, Cellular One, Digital Equipment Corporation, New England Telephone, RE/MAX International, Lotus Development, Jiffy Lube, NASA, K-Mart, Discovery Channel, Bloomberg, WGN, WNBC, KCBS, KHOU, and WGBH. John composed the score for the feature film, Macbeth in Manhattan, directed by Greg Lombardo, and for the short feature, Caught in Time, directed by Abigail Zealey-Bess.

Tricia Alexander

Tricia Alexander is an award-winning performing and healing artist with a 30-year history in community arts development and individual creativity and self expression. She stepped onto the Reiki path in 1991, using Reiki in her concerts and after school programs (in the USA and Britain). She is also a Reiki Master / Teacher (Usui lineage) and a BodyTalk Practitioner. Her private practice takes her into homes, hospitals and assisted living facilities. She has office hours in Cary.
